Color Wheel Project

A creative educational program for elementary students that inspires our dancers

T2 Dance Company creates and performs dances inspired by student artworks.

What is the Color Wheel Project?

  1. FALL: In-school workshops (Colorado standards-aligned)
  2. WINTER: Student artwork creation and submission
  3. SPRING: Professional dance performance featuring student work

From classroom canvas to professional stage

CWP combines visual arts with dance culminating in a performance by the professionals of the T2 Dance Company.

The T2 dancers visit schools, working with the elementary students to explore color through visual arts and movement activities. Students submit artwork to T2, who then select artworks to inspire the creation of a new dance show.

Testimonials

The choreography was gorgeous. The program elevates and celebrates student artwork and beautifully demonstrates the intersection of dance, art, and music. It is a very special and impactful program!

My student came to school on the Monday after the show wearing his Color Wheel T-shirt and positively beaming when I shared
photos and videos of the show with the rest of the fourth grade. The Color Wheel is a truly special program that is having a huge impact on these kids’ lives.

The experience of modern dance being broken up by interviews with the student artists really added a charm that I’ve not experienced before.
